All in all a great course. Fun but with plenty of learning opportunities. I feel well prepped for the EO Final Exam.

An excellent weekend in the ‘wilds’ of The Yorkshire Dales. The steep and rocky terrain provided an excellent environment for training for awkward mountain environments. The climbs were certainly no pushover either! The wealth of knowledge the coaches have between them is inspiring to say the least. I felt I got a real sense of what a seasoned MTB guide operating at ‘role model’ standard should look like! It’s given me something to aim for.

The course was delivered in an extremely professional way. Each and every single aspect was covered in the details. Being more of an assessment course, I expected not to have too much feedback from course director and instructor but the interaction between students and instructors has been remarkable. Craig has done a great job as usual in bringing people up and educating rather than correcting. Chip has always been absolutely on point in terms of knowledge and precise info required by the students.

Really impressed and grateful at what was put on for us. It was genuinely one of the better courses I've ever been to. There were a lot of moving parts for you to deal with and it all worked so thank you very much.

To sum up. Overall I really enjoyed it and have come away happy that I could take on the EO Final exam. The content was generally good with some excellent parts but also a couple of slight missed opportunities. The accommodation and cafe were great and they were more than happy to sort out any needs we had. I felt it was money well spent and I definitely enjoyed the banter after that initial briefing. Most of all, I’ve always been amazed and impressed that ABMG has managed to somehow unify all the British awards, it was a bit of political genius and I’m delighted that you managed it.

Overall, the course was little harder than I first thought and for good reason. It felt like a level 4 course and a step up from my MIAS Level 3. The pace of the course was pitched perfectly as well as its delivery from both ABMG’s Tutors. I do strongly feel that live students/clientele would be helpful to see a true top end Level 3 deliver at the level that is needed. I’ve come away gaining a lot of useful information in which I’ll use in future sessions, I’ve also learnt a lot on what I personally need to do for the EO Final Exam.
